Eva Aronian, 2020

In preparing for her CCSF interview Eva Aronian sent a video link to the Committee.  She played an incredibly challenging sonata-solo violin by Aram Khachaturian, a 20th century Soviet composer.

Growing up in Calgary and Montreal, Eva knew she wanted to be a performing violinist from the age of fourteen. At eighteen she was accepted, with a scholarship, for a B.Music at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. In 2019, again at Boston, she graduated with a M.Music with Honors in violin performance.

Eva is now enrolled in the two-year ‘Artist Diploma’ program at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. The School provides specialist training for advanced students looking toward an international career in music.  She is one of only six students accepted, with a full tuition scholarship.

The Guildhall has exposed her to a renowned international calibre of music where she has learned much new repertoire. She has taken part in many collaborations leading to performances on BBC Radio 3 and the Wigmore Hall. Her Tutor, David Takeno, describes her as an advanced and mature player, whose performances are always musically expressive and challenging.

Eva has performed in concerts in Canada, the United States and Europe.

In Canada Eva has performed with the Maison Symphonique in Montreal, the Toronto Summer Music Festival, and the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival. She was soloist with the Calgary Civic Symphony, Lakehead University, and is scheduled for the Festival of Sound, Parry Sound.  Future engagements include a tour of Maritime Canada in 2021 with Debut Atlantic.

Eva has received the honour from the Canada Council for the Arts Instrument Bank of a three year loan to play with a c.1700 Giovanni Tononi violin.

Eva Aronian has been awarded the Belle Shenkman Award for the Performing Arts.
