Canadians from across the UK came together at the spectacular Platinum Maple Leaf Ball, organised by the Maple Leaf Trust, which took place on the 19th of May at the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Nearly 400 Canadians including the High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, HE The Honourable Ralph E. Goodale, PC, CCSF Scholars and CCSF committee members came together to raise money for the Canadian Centennial Scholarship Fund and the Veterans’ Support Committee.
CCSF musical scholars saxophonist David Zucchi, 2021, opera singer Emily Gibson Brown, 2021, and pianist Charis Hanning, 2010, performed during the champagne reception in the stunning John Madejski Garden and Emily Gibson Brown sang a beautiful rendition of O Canada in the Raphael Court, surrounded by the Raphael Cartoons, one of the greatest treasures of the Renaissance. This was followed by a gourmet dinner hosted by Canadian opera legend Gerald Finley, a silent and a live auction and dancing under the Dome.
