The CCSF will be hosting an online Seminar on Peace Conflict & Terrorism: Governing On and Offline Extremism featuring current and former CCSF scholars on the 28th of March.
- Isabelle Lemay (CCSF 2021-2022), a second year DPhil student in International Development at the University of Oxford will talk about Theorizing Moments of Openness Towards Refugees: The Case of Germany during the 2015-2016 Refugee ‘Crisis’.
- Brody McDonald (CCSF 2021-2022), a DPhil Student at the University of Oxford, will talk about Rebel Competition: How Non-State Actors Consolidate within Civil Wars.
- Yannick Veilleux-Lepage (CCSF 2015-2016; 2016-2017) is an Assistant Professor of Terrorism and Political Violence at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs at Leiden University. Yannick will Talk about Women on Online Extremist Forums.
Political violence is of concern to policy makers around the world as groups employ novel techniques to propagate their views and influencing both online and offline. How does terrorism evolve? What is the role of online misinformation? How are refugees represented in the media? Our speakers will address these important and topical issues.
