The CCSF hosted an online networking event on the evening of 8th of June, 2021 featuring CCSF scholars, committee member and supporters. The event gave current and past scholars an opportunity to get to know each other and to learn about each others’s diverse areas and places of study.

Some of the scholars were invited to give ‘flash talks’ lasting just a few minutes each, on their areas of expertise. Click here to view the recording of these fascinating talks from five past scholars:

  • Jessica Hogan (PhD Candidate, University of St. Andrews) who presented on ‘Living with Onshore Wind Energy:  Acceptance and Energy Justice in Newfoundland and Scotland’
  • Freedom-Kai Philips (PhD candidate, Cambridge University) gave a interesting presentation on ‘The Legal Architecture of Market Mechanisms under International Law and the Role of Private Actors in Advancing Sustainable Development’
  • Jacqueline Siu (PhD Candidate, University of Cambridge) gave an enlightening talk about ‘Lymphocyte Subset Variability Between Human Lymphoid Tissues’
  • Nathalie Kirby, (PhD Candidate, University of Birmingham) spoke about her work on ‘Heat Acclimation’ and how it is being used by Paralympic athletes
  • Yue Liu, (DPhil Candidate, Oxford University) gave a timely presentation on ‘Control Theory and Mathematical Modelling in Biology’.
