The CCSF was deeply saddened to learn that Tammy Chen, a 2015-2016 scholar, was the victim of a terrorist attack in Burkina Faso in August 2017. Tammy was an outstanding person who cared deeply about her chosen pursuit of developing solutions for poverty reduction and proudly represented Canada on the world stage. Her pursuit of a PhD in Development Studies at Cambridge University was something the CCSF was delighted to support and we feel privileged to have had the opportunity to play a small role in Tammy’s unwavering commitment towards making the world a better place. The CCSF plans to mark Tammy’s memory with an appropriate gesture to be announced in due course. We send our most heartfelt condolences to her family and many friends around the world.
